Centurion is facing a series of road closures due to flooding that has affected the area’s traffic flow and infrastructure.

Following the persistent downpours, major roadways in Centurion have been compromised, necessitating immediate closures.
Motorists are urged to avoid End and Rabie Streets, significant routes affected by the rising water levels.
In addition, the Soshanguve Road near Soutpan Road has been closed.
Local emergency services are actively monitoring these areas, particularly flooded bridges in Tshwane, as they pose serious risks for crossing.

- Bridge at Campbell Road, Saxby and Wierda Road
- Left turn into Slip Street onto Ruimte from R101
- Gravel etc at the Intersection of R101 and Saxby
- Hennops Bridge on Blackwood Road
- End and Rabi bridge
- End and Witstinkhout
- R101 and Hendrik Verwoerd were partly flooded with gravel
- Rooihuiskraal and Reddersburg Road
- R101 and Escourt 10. Erasmus Road (Between Lulu & Ruimte)
- Rooihuiskraal Rd at Uitsig High School was flooded but still a lot of water on the road.
The flooding has also impacted traffic across broader Gauteng, with Johannesburg experiencing significant traffic jams.
Authorities have labelled several bridges and roads in Centurion as no-go zones to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
Officials warn that traffic lights affected by the wet conditions may disrupt the regular flow of vehicles, further complicating transportation.
Centurion weather forecast for the rest of the day
The SA Weather Service forecasts that the current cold spell in Centurion will continue, with the weather expected to vary on Tuesday, 9 April 2024.
The day will begin with isolated thunderstorms and an initial temperature of around 22°C, which might feel warmer due to high humidity.
The weather will be slightly clear in the afternoon, allowing temperatures to rise to about 23°C. However, isolated thunderstorms are expected to resume, dropping evening temperatures to around 15°C.
Wind speeds throughout the day are anticipated to peak at approximately 35 km/h, contributing to the already brisk conditions.
Humidity levels will remain elevated, ranging from 54% to 69%, with an expected rainfall of about 12 mm.
