In a surprising turn of events, exclusive pictures reveal that the lavish Bryanston mansion once occupied by the late musician AKA is now back on the market.
Landlord exposes AKA monthly rental for Bryanston mansion
Reports suggest that AKA’s furniture has been removed from the residence after his landlord terminated the lease agreement following the rapper’s untimely passing.
Contrary to popular belief, it has been revealed that the property was not owned by the renowned artist but rather rented by him.
A close friend of AKA, who preferred to remain anonymous, disclosed that the musician paid approximately R40 000 per month for the property.
The source clarified that the misconception regarding ownership arose due to the luxury vehicles often seen at the residence.
Despite AKA having paid rent in advance until September 2023, the landlord, Nthsimane Mekoa, allegedly instructed the Forbes family to remove the furniture to accommodate new tenants.
It is reported that the family complied without objection, and the furniture has been relocated to storage.
A neighbour, who witnessed AKA and his former girlfriend, media personality Bonang Matheba, move into the property years ago, confirmed that new occupants have taken residence in the house for over a month now.
In response to the allegations, Mekoa denied claims of evicting AKA or having any disagreements with his family.
He also refuted the statement that the musician had paid rent in advance. Mekoa emphasised that the details of the lease agreement remain a private matter between him and the late artist.
Police closing in on murder suspects
AKA, known as The Supa Mega in the music industry, tragically lost his life alongside his close friend and celebrity chef, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, in a senseless act of violence on 10 February 2023.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola provided an update on the ongoing murder investigation, assuring the public that the authorities are actively pursuing the culprits responsible for the heinous crime.
