In what has turned out to be a historic move for Idols SA, two victors Yanga Sobetwa and Paxton linked up for the release of Catch Me, a song that recaptures the essence of true love.
Yanga Sobetwa and Paxton make Idols SA history
Never before in the competition’s history have two South African winners from different seasons collaborated on a label-backed single release.
The move, spearheaded by Gallo Music, sees two angelic voices come together “on a track that will warm the hearts of fans everywhere.”
Speaking on the premiere of the song that’s accompanied by a relatable music video, Yanga hoped the message she and Paxton conveyed on Catch Me would be everything her supporters wanted and more.
“It was also really awesome working with Paxton on the song and I hope the public is happy with the work we have put together,” she said.
Paxton, who was crowned winner of Idols SA season 13 in 2017, shared her excitement for working with the woman she passed the baton to in the following season of the singing competition.
“Being a part of the ‘Catch Me’ feature was so exciting, especially working with another Idols winner because it’s never been done before! The fact that we got to do a music video in lockdown was such a blessing and so much fun to shoot! I’m so hyped for you guys to see the music video, hope you enjoy!” she exclaimed.
