The Big Hash may have reached the end of his shortlived career following an incident that he prompted on his Instagram Live feed.
Big Hash Instagram Live could have led to a death
The rising star from Pretoria was on IG Live this past Saturday engaging with his fans. A fellow artist on the come-up known only as YT took the chance to engage with the rapper on his Live, in search of an opportunity to expose his musical talents.
It’s said that he asked to play Big Hash one of his songs and the young rapper agreed, on the condition that he sniffed a line of paprika.
The prospect of this kind of exposure for an up-and-coming artist would make one do the craziest things. Unbeknownst to YT, this was a fatal decision that would end his life before he could reap the potential rewards of playing his music on Big Hash’s influential platform.
Can you die from snorting paprika?
You see, it isn’t widely known but snorting paprika, a powdered spice made from varieties of pepper can cause damage to your mucous membranes or worse, lungs.
In the clip that surfaced online, YT could be seen struggling to breathe after snorting the paprika, much to Big Hash’s amusement. The rapper failed to see past the humour of it all and alert the fan to seek immediate medical assistance.
The details are still a bit sketchy at this time but we have come to learn that YT passed away after that incident.
At this time, it’s not clear if the budding artist’s death was a result of the paprika incident. However, allegations thrown around on social media suggest that Big Hash may have played a part in it.
Here’s why Big Hash could face jail time for culpable homicide
The rapper caught wind of the news and posted this reaction on his Instagram Story.
If indeed YT’s death came as a result of Big Hash’s suggestion, then the Pretoria rap star could be in trouble. Without facts from the police, we can’t be certain about how the case of YT’s death is being treated.
One thing is for sure, though, if there is enough probable cause to pursue culpable homicide charges, Big Hash will likely face serious jail time.
Culpable Homicide is “an act which has resulted in a person’s death but is held not to amount to murder.” If it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Big Hash’s suggestion was the direct cause of YT’s death, the State — should a charge be pursued — would have a stong case.
Of course, it is a bit early to say what will happen from here on. This is a developing story.
