Priddy Ugly continues pacing towards his album drop and on Friday, the rapper released the music video for his latest single SOIL.
Priddy Ugly drops ‘SOIL’: Here’s a full breakdown
Priddy is not the kind of artist to showcase his craft spontaneously and without purpose. On The Pen, the rapper intentionally went bar-for-bar with fellow lyricist YoungstaCPT to remind folks that on wax, he’s the punchline king.
On SOIL, the Kempton Park rapper draws parallels between two worlds. His connection to the West has placed him at an awkward centre, lodged between the haves and the have-nots who, despite stark disparities, share a common desire of want.
Priddy ties this to African culture, the Diaspora and the idea of blackness in two worlds where identity is a lesser price to pay for than materialism which, people will do anything for.
The Fred-From-Yesterday and White-Flame-directed music video is pacing well since it premiered on YouTube on Friday.
Vaughn Thiel and Richardo Moloi are credited as executive producers and cementing the soulistic mood on SOIL is producer Shooterkhumz.

The rapper’s album is scheduled to drop in the last week of July 2021.
