Cassper Nyovest resumed his raucous return to Hip-Hop on Wednesday with the release of a new single, Pardon My Arrogance.
Cassper Nyovest revisits Migos flow on Pardon My Arrogance
This is Nyovest’s third single release since he first surfaced from Amapiano with the anthematic Put Your Hands Up.
Between then and Pardon My Arrogance, the mulri-platinum-selling rapper has been at the mercy of unkind Hip-Hop fans.
When Tsibip made a statement response to Big Zulu with 4 Steps Back, fans rubbished his efforts. This time around, Nyovest turned to an old formula that’s worked wonders in the past.
With no distinct signature to his sound, Nyovest hopped on Pardon My Arrogance, borrowing working formulas from the Migos’ Versace classic, and Drake’s BPM on We Made It.
Match the iconic Migos flow and the hard-hitting drums of Drake and Soulja Boy’s street sweeper with Nyovest’s braggadocious one-liners and what emerges from that is a palatable mainstream single release with commercial viability.
This critique, or what have you, takes nothing away from Nyovest’s uncanny ability to draw engagement around his music. To this day, he never fails at drawing large crowds to his art works.
Pardon My Arrogance dropped on all digital music platforms for streaming and purchase. You can listen to it in full below:
