Eskom published the weekend loadshedding schedule starting on Friday, which forecasts reduced outages.
UPDATE: On Sunday, 26 November 2023, Eskom reduced loadshedding to STAGE 4 from 12:00 until 05:00 on Monday, 27 November 2023. See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
Weekend loadshedding schedule starting Friday, 24 November 2023
On Wednesday, Eskom adjusted the patterned schedule to a permanent Stage 4 until further notice. This, the power utility, explained, was “due to insufficient emergency reserves and generation capacity as a result of four units not returning to service as planned.”
This weekend, outages are expected to stay on Stage 4 from 05:00 until Eskom makes changes to the loadshedding schedule.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
The last state of the power system update was on Sunday, 19 November 2023. At the time, Eskom reported more than 17 391MW of generation capacity lost to breakdowns, with an additional 6 606MW offline due to several units placed out of commission for planned maintenance.
