Eskom published the weekend loadshedding schedule starting on Friday, which forecasts suspended outages.

On Wednesday, Eskom confirmed that loadshedding would remain suspended until further notice, extending the reprieve from rotational outages to over a week.
In a statement, the power utility cited the expected return of 2,070MW of generation capacity by Friday as one of the reasons behind the positive outlook.
“Eskom will provide a system update on Sunday afternoon or communicate any significant changes should they occur,” the utility wrote.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
The last state of the power system update was on Wednesday, 17 April 2024.
At the time, Eskom reported more than 14 264 MW of unplanned breakdowns, with the average peak demand expected to average 28 655MW this weekend.
