Eskom published the weekend loadshedding schedule starting on Friday, which forecasts reduced outages.

Weekend loadshedding schedule starting Friday, 1 March 2024
On Tuesday, Eskom updated this week’s schedule with a lower pattern of outages.
In a statement, the power utility confirmed loadshedding would be sustained at Stage 2 “until further notice.”
Therefore, barring any unexpected changes necessitated by unplanned breakdowns at Megawatt Park’s ailing generation fleet, loadshedding should be sustained at Stage 2 this weekend.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
The last state of the power system update was on Sunday, 18 February 2024. At the time, Eskom reported more than 13 350MW of generation capacity lost to breakdowns, with an additional 8 476MW offline due to several units placed out of commission for planned maintenance.
