To honour International Women’s Day, we have drawn up an updated list of the top 50 richest women in the world, in 2021.
Why do we celebrate International Women’s Day?
Much of the world’s wealth is spread unevenly amongst men and women, with the latter drawing the shortest end of the stick, in almost every respect.
In this day and age, with all that has changed, women are still grossly underpaid, highly overlooked in workplaces and gender-based violence is a silent epidemic that continues to rear its ugly head in our communities.
On International Women’s Day, the world reflects on the steep road ahead in steering towards a more inclusive society.
This year, the adopted theme for this day is “choose to challenge.”
“A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So let’s all choose to challenge.”
