On Sunday, Eskom confirmed the new week would kick off with heightened outages, sustained at Stage 5 “until further notice.”
“Over the past 48 hours, Eskom has successfully replenished its pumped storage dam levels and bringing back some generation units back to service. This enabled the reduction of loadshedding to Stage 5 from 12:00 midday until further notice,” the struggling utility noted.
As of Sunday, 11 February 2024, breakdowns amounted to:
- 17 595MW – up 3 254MW from Sunday, 28 January 2024
- 6 885MW – down 1 046MW from Sunday, 28 January 2024
