On the week of Monday, 11 September 2023, Eskom expects to escalate the loadshedding schedule.
UPDATE 9: On Sunday, 17 September 2023, Eskom confirmed loadshedding will be downgraded to Stage 2 from 16:00 until 16:00 on Monday, 18 September 2023 “due to further improvement in generation capacity.” See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 8: On Saturday, 16 September 2023, Eskom confirmed loadshedding will be suspended from 22:00 until 16:00 on Sunday, 17 September 2023. See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 7: On Saturday, 16 September 2023, Eskom confirmed loadshedding will be suspended between 11:00 and 16:00 “due to further improvement in generation capacity.” See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 6: On Friday, 15 September 2023, Eskom further downgraded loadshedding to Stage 4, effective from 14:00 until 05:00 on Saturday, 16 September 2023. See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 5: On Tuesday, 12 September 2023, Eskom confirmed that permanent Stage 6 loadshedding will continue until further notice, as the “anticipated return to service of a generating unit each at Kendal, Matla and Matimba power stations has been delayed.” See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 4: On Tuesday, 12 September 2023, Eskom confirmed that for the rest of the week, loadshedding will be implemented at a pattern of Stage 5 between 05:00 and 16:00, and Stage 6 in the evenings. See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 3: On Tuesday, 12 September 2023, Eskom escalated loadshedding to Stage 5 from 10:00 to 16:00 “due to the loss of 4 generation units overnight. See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE 2: On Monday, 11 September 2023, Eskom confirmed Stage 5 loadshedding will be in place between 22:00 and 05:00 on Tuesday, “in order to replenish pumped storage dam levels overnight and to maintain sufficient emergency generation reserves.” See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
UPDATE: On Monday, 11 September 2023, Eskom confirmed loadshedding will be escalated to Stage 4 from 12:00 until further notice, “due to the failure of generating units at Arnot, Duvha and Groetvlei power stations, as well as the delay in returning generating units to service.” See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
Here’s the loadshedding schedule starting Monday, 11 September 2023
On Sunday, 10 September 2023, Eskom published a statement confirming that loadshedding will remain at Stage 4 from 16:00 until 05:00 the next day.
Thereafter, rotational outages are expected to return to Stage 3 until 16:00.
“This pattern will be repeated daily until further notice,” Eskom explained.
