Eskom published the loadshedding schedule for the weekend starting on Friday, 30 June 2023, which forecasts no loadshedding during the day and Stage 3 outages in the evening.

In a statement released on Friday, Eskom confirmed Stage 3 loadshedding would resume at Stage 3 from 16:00 until midnight. Thereafter, the weekend loadshedding schedule will rotate between no outages during the day and Stage 3 in the evening until midnight.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
On Friday, Eskom reported more than 14 374MW of generation capacity lost to breakdowns, with an additional 5 003MW offline due to several units placed out of commission for planned maintenance.
In the last 24 hours, Eskom’s generation fleet lost a generation unit each at Camden, Kendal as well as two units at Matla power stations “were taken out of service due to breakdowns.”
“Eskom teams are working around the clock to return these generating units to service over the next few days,” the power utility wrote.
