On Sunday, 23 July 2023, Eskom issued an update on the state of the power system, confirming the new week will follow a pattern of reduced outages, following a weekend of ongoing Stage 4 blackouts.
Therefore, barring no unforeseen breakdowns, households should brace Stage 3 interruptions on Monday until 16:00 and Stage 4 in the evenings until further notice.
“Over the past 24 hours, a generating unit at Camden and Matla power stations were returned to service. In the same period, a generating unit each at Duvha, Grootvlei, Kriel and Matla power stations was taken offline for repairs,” the power utility noted.
