Health Canada has issued a recall for the popular energy drink, PRIME Energy, co-promoted by social media influencers Logan Paul and KSI, citing its high caffeine content.
Logan Paul reacts to Canada decision to recall PRIME Energy
The decision, announced on Wednesday, states that each can of PRIME Energy contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, exceeding the country’s recommended limit of 180 milligrams per serving.
Consequently, the energy drink has been instructed to be removed from store shelves.
Logan Paul, who has since springboarded into a bustling WWE career, responded to Canadian health officials’ claims, asserting that PRIME Energy is not even distributed in Canada.
He argued that any PRIME product available in the country must have been illicitly sent, absolving the brand of any violation of Canadian regulations.

This recall comes shortly after United States Senator Chuck Schumer raised concerns about the beverage’s potential health risks, particularly for children.
He called for an investigation by the Food and Drug Administration into the sale of the drink in American stores. Schumer’s primary contention was the “serious health concern” posed by the high caffeine levels present in PRIME Energy.
In response to the recall and criticism, Logan Paul and KSI have clarified that PRIME Energy is distinct from their initial product, PRIME Hydration, which was launched in 2022.
While the hydration beverage is intended for consumers of all ages, the energy version, released earlier this year, is explicitly labelled as “not recommended” for individuals under 18 years old.
Logan Paul recently released a satirical social media video attempting to highlight the differences between PRIME Energy, water, and PRIME Hydration.
In a statement, PRIME officials emphasised their commitment to consumer safety and expressed their willingness to engage in discussions with the FDA or any relevant organization to address industry changes aimed at protecting consumers.
PRIME Energy, in all its variations, has gained significant popularity since its debut, thanks to the influencers’ enthusiastic promotion and dedicated fan base.
However, with the recall in Canada and increasing scrutiny in the United States, the future of the energy drink remains uncertain.
