Kanye West is reportedly looking to expand his Yeezy’s billion-dollar profile to cosmetics, where his sister-in-law made a fortune.
Is Kanye West launching his own cosmetics brand?
None of this has been confirmed by the Chicago rapper and design extraordinaire, but according to TMZ, he recently filed legal documents to trademark Yeezy in cosmetics, including make-up, face masks, nail polish, shaving cream, bath gels, aromatherapy pillows, perfumes and even hygienic products like toothpaste and deodorant.
This, according to the cited publication, would be Kanye West’s second attempt at making a killing in this $145.2 billion industry in three years.
It is believed that Ye attempted to lock in ‘Donda’ brand cosmetics — named after his mother — in 2017 but this never came to fruition, for some reason.
This time, though, Kanye West is surrounding by cosmetic magnates in the form of his wife Kim Kardashian-West who, over the years, has amassed a net worth evaluated at $350 million with her KKW Beauty cosmetics line.
His sister-in-law Kylie Jenner is a few million dollars away from being rightly listed as a billionaire with her Kylie Cosmetics brand.
Ye, who has already made history as Hip-Hop’s second billionaire, refuses to be complainant with the success of his clothing brand, it seems.
Nothing stands in the way of the Chicago native as he continues to break barriers and you can bet that millions of his loyal followers will be here for new Yeezy cosmetics.
