Former US President Donald Trump has enlisted the services of a prominent attorney with ties to the Hip-Hop world to represent him in his ongoing legal battle in Fulton County, Georgia.
Steve Sadow: Here’s why Donald Trump opted for Gunna lawyer
The switch in legal representation sees Trump moving from Drew Findling, known as the “Billion Dollar Lawyer” for his work with rap artists such as Gucci Mane and Offset, to Steve Sadow, a veteran attorney who recently secured the release of rapper Gunna from prison.
Sadow’s experience in representing high-profile hip-hop figures such as Rick Ross and Gunna adds a unique dimension to Trump’s legal defence strategy.
As reported by Variety, Sadow’s track record includes successfully securing Gunna an Alford plea deal in the complex and ongoing YSL RICO case.
The attorney’s work has garnered attention for securing acquittals in high-profile cases, showcasing his ability to navigate intricate legal scenarios.
“The president should never have been indicted. He is innocent of all the charges brought against him,” Sadow said in a statement.
Attorney Scott Grubman, who represents co-defendant Kenneth Chesbro in the Trump case, has expressed optimism about Sadow’s involvement.
Grubman praised Sadow’s track record of securing acquittals in high-profile cases, emphasising their shared goal of achieving a positive outcome for their respective clients.
“I welcome him to the case and look forward to achieving a mutual goal on behalf of our respective clients,” Grubman said.
Sadow’s vision for Trump’s case is clear: to secure a dismissal or, if necessary, an acquittal through an unbiased and open-minded legal process.
“We look forward to the case being dismissed or, if necessary, an unbiased, open minded jury finding the president not guilty. Prosecutions intended to advance or serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents of the president have no place in our justice system,” Sadow declared.
