Chris Brown is facing a battery lawsuit over an alleged assault in a London nightclub.
Chris Brown hit with fresh battery lawsuit in London
The lawsuit was filed by Abe Diaw, who claims that the singer attacked him with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila at TAPE nightclub in England back in February 2023.
According to court documents seen first by TMZ, Diaw alleges that Brown struck him on the head with “crushing blows,” using the tequila bottle as a weapon.
Diaw further claims that he was knocked unconscious by the attack but that Brown continued to stomp on him as he lay on the nightclub floor. As a result of the alleged incident, Diaw says he had to be hospitalised for injuries that include cuts on his head and torn ligaments in his leg.
Adding another layer to the story, Diaw states that there is CCTV footage of the event and that London police are in possession of the video.
He also claims that Brown is now considered a fugitive in the United Kingdom as a result of the alleged incident.
Interestingly, Diaw has known Chris Brown for at least seven years and initially thought Brown was approaching to hug him when the alleged assault took place.
Diaw is now suing Brown for damages, claiming that his injuries may be permanent and that he is suffering from serious emotional distress.
This lawsuit adds to a string of legal issues that Chris Brown has faced over the years.
The artist has been involved in various controversies, including a high-profile domestic violence case with Rihanna in 2009.
Brown has also faced charges for keeping a restricted species without a permit and has even been restricted from performing in some countries due to legal troubles.
