In the leaked footage, the Chicago legend was seen engaged in a phone conversation.
During this discussion, he ranted about giving away songs, industry plants, the Illuminati, and more. One notable part of the conversation was Ye’s remarks about Cardi B.
Kanye categorically claimed Cardi B was an “industry plant” who assumed the position once held by Nicki Minaj.
He added that Cardi B didn’t write her own lyrics and portrayed herself as ignorant, primarily focusing on making money.
The Donda producer also suggested that her ascent was orchestrated by the Illuminati, and she was unaware of the true circumstances surrounding her success.
Here’s how Cardi reacted to the ‘old Kanye’ rant
However, following the leak of this footage, Cardi B responded in a way that demonstrates a potential change in dynamics.
She shared an interview from 2022 in which Kanye expressed his admiration for her and his belief in her talent.
In a 2022 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Cardi B spoke positively about Kanye and their collaborative track, Hot Sh**.
She mentioned that the song had a more masculine energy and explained that she had held off on releasing it until she found the right rappers to complement the beat.
Lil Durk and Kanye West were chosen for their ability to match the track’s intensity.
Cardi B expressed her appreciation for Kanye’s contribution to the song and revealed that she had numerous conversations with him, describing him as an “amazing, sweet person.”
She expressed her desire for the public to have the opportunity to know the “real” Kanye.
“I learned so much about him, and he’s such an amazing, sweet person. I’ve been feeling like I wish a lot of people [could] have conversations with him so they could just see the real him,” she said.
