Have you seen Nakane Lizane? – Gqeberha police ramp up search
To encourage community involvement, the SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit are offering a cash reward of R50 000 for any information leading to the safe return or whereabouts of the young boy.
In a statement, police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg explained that at this time, evidence suggests Nakane was dropped off at home from daycare at around 15:45, and his mother was busy preparing supper.
He was playing outside the house with his 10-year-old brother at Ndlovini, Wells Estate.
When their mother called them inside, only the older brother returned, leaving Nakane unaccounted for. Despite extensive searches and inquiries in the area, no one has been able to provide any information regarding Nakane’s whereabouts.
The concerned mother immediately reported her son missing to SAPS Swartkops.
Since then, numerous search parties have been formed, and mass searches have been conducted with the support of various SAPS divisions and units, community members, local and national media outlets, private security companies, and even drones deployed by a private company to scan the surrounding areas of Wells Estate in Gqeberha.
At the time of his disappearance, Nakane was wearing a black pair of jeans, a light-coloured t-shirt, and a black jacket.
In an effort to expedite the search and raise awareness, Gqeberha police have now announced the R50 000 reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to locating the missing child.
The ultimate goal is to find Nakane and ensure his safe return, regardless of the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
The authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in this urgent matter.
