Venda Plaza cash-in-transit heist caught on camera
Details about the incident were still murky when this article was published. However, according to several online reports, a Fidelity cash van transporting wads of cash at a banking facility in the popular shopping mall was allegedly ambushed by a large group of armed suspects.
It’s believed the brazen robbers opened fire and struck the Fidelity security guards, before making off with an undisclosed amount of money in a white Ford bakkie missing a canopy.
The condition of the security guards remans unknown at this time.
While the getaway vehicle’s registration plates were not visible in the video captured by a brave onlooker, it will prove crucial for investigators, who, it’s believed, have since launched a manhunt in search of the suspects.
Onlookers also captured footage of large crowds gathering outside the banking facility in Venda Plaza, where the cash-in-transit heist was pulled off, potentially contaminating an active crime scene.
A statement from Limpopo police had not surfaced when this article was published.
Therefore, it’s presumed the suspects involved in the brazen Venda Plaza cash-in-transit heist are still at large and considered extremely hostile and dangerous.
This is a developing story.
