This driver’s day could not have gotten any worse after a regular delivery quickly turned into a nightmare.
Home security cameras caught horrifying images of the moment an unidentified Checkers Sixty60 driver was ambushed by gun-wielding robbers.
The incident, recorded on Monday, 26 February 2024, at approximately 13:35, saw at least three men involved.
From the events shown in the footage, the Checkers Sixty60 courier was waiting outside a property for one or more packages to be collected.
Within minutes of his arrival at the delivery address, two armed men got out of a white vehicle parked out of frame and ambushed the driver.
Completely stunned, the delivery driver froze on his bike seat while the two robbers helped themselves to several grocery packages.
In a sheer display of gall, a third suspect emerged from the vehicle and casually hauled more packages out of the bike’s compartment, before running off.
Fortunately, the driver, who made no attempt at resisting the robbers, survived the ordeal unscathed.

How to report Checkers Sixty60 orders that are not delivered
Checkers Sixty60 reporting mechanisms do not cater to such circumstances. While crime is rampant in South Africa, and couriers have, in the recent past, been targeted by syndicates, drivers delivering groceries have, for the most part, quietly lingered at the bottom of robbers’ priority lists.
However, in the event a shopper’s groceries fall into the wrong hands under the circumstances seen in the video, a report can still be filed on the Checkers Sixty60 app. Here’s how:
If an item that you have been charged for on your invoice is not in your bag, you can submit an issue via the app within 24 hours of delivery.
- Tap “My Profile“
- Tap”Orders“
- Tap on the relevant order
- Tap “Submit Issue“
- Tap on “Product Issues” and select the product that is missing
- Select a Reason “Missing Product“
