Gauteng law enforcement officials had cordoned off a section of Adcock Street in Chamdor, West Rand, after an unknown group of suspects took down a cash van.
Details about the incident were still trickling in when this article was published. However, according to sources close to the situation, the daring robbers rammed their white vehicle into the money truck, sending it on an off-road tumble.
It’s alleged that multiple shots were fired, while the morning traffic was buzzing along Adcock Street, with the West Rand community kicking off a new school and work week.
It’s unclear if any fatalities or injuries were sustained in the fiery confrontation. Based on the information we have at our disposal, the indication is that the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving a scene of destruction only seen in theatres.
In the aftermath, with the suspects gone in a getaway vehicle, passers-by caught footage of the wreckage, and chillingly, the moment the vehicle used to ram the cash van exploded.
This is a developing story.
