According to reports, Brown was attacked by two unidentified assailants as he was leaving the Virgin Active gym in Roodepoort. The gunmen fired multiple shots, leading to Brown’s immediate death at the scene.
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed the incident without revealing the victim’s identity. However, sources identified the victim as Brown.
An eyewitness at the scene described the chaos and the escape of the shooter in a Mercedes-Benz. The incident occurred at the gym’s exit boom gate, highlighting the brazen nature of the attack.
Brown’s criminal background includes a rivalry with Keenen Sheldon Ebrahim, the suspected leader of the Fast Guns gang, who was also killed in a similar fashion in Roodepoort earlier this year.
In 2019, Brown, alongside Christopher “Pitso” Charles and Warrant Officer Wynand Steyn, faced trial for the 2006 murder of Reagan Jacobs. It was alleged that Brown and Charles, exiting a police vehicle driven by Steyn, shot Jacobs, leading to his death and the injury of two others.
Videos of the crime scene, showing a man slumped over his seat, have since surfaced online.
This is a developing story.
