Durban Metro Police officer arrested for colleague’s murder
Early on Sunday, the peaceful morning was shattered in Joseph Nduli Street, Durban, when a horrific scene unfolded inside a local flat.
Bianca, a fellow Durban Metro Police officer, was found deceased, the victim of an alleged stabbing by her partner, a shocking event that has sent ripples through the community.
According to police, the couple was consuming alcohol when an argument escalated, resulting in the tragic stabbing.
The severity of the situation was compounded by the suspect’s actions following the attack.
Allegedly, he took videos and photographs of Bianca as she lay dying and distributed these to various individuals, including posting them on social media platforms, a move that has sparked widespread condemnation and horror.
The video, which has since gone viral online, is too graphic to share on our platform, and we would dissuade anyone from spreading it any further.
The suspect was apprehended by Durban Central officers on a charge of murder and is slated to appear in court, on Tuesday, 2 April 2024.
Adding to the tragedy, Bianca’s mother, a Superintendent of the Municipal Police, was reportedly hospitalised after visiting the crime scene, unable to bear the sight of her daughter’s apartment where the brutal act took place.
The flat, a familial inheritance, now stands as a site of profound loss.
