Constantia, an affluent suburb nestled in leafy greens of the southern suburbs of Cape Town, hosted a horrific murder scene on Thursday, where four victims, believed to be Bulgarians, were found dead in an abandoned home.
Four Bulgarians found dead in Constantia home: Here’s what we know
In a statement, Cape Town police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut revealed that a property in Constantia was cordoned off for further investigations after four bodies were discovered with gunshot wounds.
Details were still scarce when this article was published but from what we understand, a team of officers was summoned to the gory crime scene after concerned neighbours conducted a welfare check on the property and, to their horror, stumbled on the bodies of two females and two males, believed to be aged between 40 and 50.
Information on the forensic evidence discovered at the crime scene remains unknown but Col. Traut confirmed that at this time, the only thing police know for sure is that the victims were Bulgarians.
Little is known about the victims’ immigration status.
“The motive for the multiple murders is yet to be determined, with detectives hard at work in search of clues,” Cape Town police revealed.
A specialised team of homicide detectives has been assembled to handle the quadruple murder investigation.
Constantia residents have been warned to remain vigilant since preliminary indications suggest the persons responsible for the brutal mass murders may still be at large.
This is a developing story.
