The bodies of two males, believed to be in their mid-30s, were recovered from the Milton swimming pool, in Sea Point, CPT, last week Tuesday.

As reported by News24, an inquest docket has been opened in a bid to rule out foul play after the two bodies were discovered on the rocks of Milton pool.
From what we understand, the bodies were not discovered at the same time. Sea Point beachgoers made the gruesome sightings at 10:00 and 13:30 respectively.
At this time, it is unclear if the victims, or their fates, are related, in any way. However, according to police Captain Cyril Dicks, early indications suggest that the victims may have drowned. But, no chances are being taken.
A post mortem report will, in all likelihood, provide greater insight into the victims’ cause of death. At the time this article was published, the victims had not been identified.
Mayoral committee member for community safety and health Patricia van der Ross revealed, on Monday, that the City of Cape Town recorded 15 fatal drownings between the start of the fourth quarter in 2021, and the end of January 2022.
The sustained heat in the region, she explained, was the key reason behind packed beaches and, naturally, this presents a great challenge for lifeguards. Ross encouraged Capetonians to practice extreme levels of caution when swimming at the beach and, at all times, observe safety protocols enforced by lifeguards.
“Swim safety should be everyone’s responsibility and if the public plays an active role in their personal safety and all services play their part, it is possible to achieve the City’s drowning prevention vision,” she said.
At the same briefing, Ross made startling revelations about the City of Cape Town’s condom usage which may provide insight into the rise in sexually transmitted diseases.
