According to meteorological readings, Friday’s temperatures will likely drop significantly to the mid-teens, with precipitation levels expected to breach dangerous territory at 5.9mm.

By 11:00, the entire Mother City should be drenched in wet weather, and emergency officials should be on high alert as conditions are expected to be worse in central Cape Town and the southern suburbs, where precipitation levels are expected to reach 8mm.

As the day progresses, the low cut-off system is expected to move east toward Paarl, where at its centre, in the deepest parts of the Cape Winelands, precipitation levels should skyrocket to a staggering 16mm.


For the remainder of Friday, rainfall is expected to dissipate in some parts of the city, heading to a Saturday that is likely to be drenched in light and scattered showers.
