As the continent’s largest art fair, this event stands as a significant cultural and economic exchange platform, showcasing over 100 leading galleries and more than 375 artists from four continents.
The 2024 edition is themed Unbound, exploring the limitless potential and imagination of art to inspire and challenge.
This theme will permeate through the fair’s core and curated sections, including the Main Section, ALT, Editions, Publications, Connect, Tomorrows/Today, SOLO, and Generations.
Each section is designed to offer unique perspectives and experiences to the attendees, featuring a diverse range of contemporary artworks that provoke thought and transcend traditional storytelling and social norms.
- Tomorrows/Today: Curated by Dr Mariella Franzoni, this section focuses on emerging and underrepresented artists, providing a glimpse into future artistic practices and ideas. The 2024 theme, Inhabiting the Wild, reimagines the concept of wildness through artistic imagination, featuring solo show projects with a cash prize for the highest quality presentation.
- SOLO and Generations Sections: These sections offer a spotlight on individual artists and intergenerational dialogues, respectively, showcasing a range of artistic expressions and conversations across different career stages.
- ALT Section: Dedicated to young, non-traditional art spaces, the ALT section invites dialogue around unconventional modes of practice, encouraging a fresh interpretation of the art fair environment.
