A-Reece is rapping his a** off on his new song, Achilles and in the midst of the flawless delivery of rolling punchlines, the Pretoria rapper confirmed his album, P2 is coming sooner than fans think.
A-Reece confirms ‘P2’ album
Reece fans were left in awe when, seemingly out of the blue, he surfaced with a new loosie produced by Michael Touhy, a rising talent in South Africa’s alternative Hip-Hop scene.
On the record, the Burning Tree rapper ventilates several nagging thoughts, from his perspective on life as a travelled performer, to his ‘hot take’ on resisting the urge to conform to the commercial standard of South African music.
Reece scoffs at the notion he can’t assume a ‘worldly’ cadence and lyrical delivery in his music due to the fact that he is African. If anything, Reece raps, English is the construct of three languages, Greek, French and Latin.
Somewhere along his rant, the rapper confirmed his next project will be P2, the follow-up to the seven-song teaser DEADLINES: FREE P2, which dropped in October 2022.
Reece also teased a release date, claiming his initial target was July but, due to an upcoming tour, the album will likely follow his brother, Jay Jody’s next offering.
Wanted to drop it in July to f**k you up even more/ But I know Jody got you first, I gotta go on this tour/
How to download A-Reece new song ‘Achilles’
A-Reece’s new single, Achilles dropped exclusively on YouTube.
Read this notice from the South African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) before you consider pirating the song from online bootleg sites:
Music piracy stunts careers, stifles talent and eats away at the ability of composers and recording artists to continue making the great music that is the soundtrack to our lives. Music piracy also takes bread off the tables of the thousands of people who work in music-related fields – from authors and composers of musical works, recording artists, to record company employees, studio producers, sound engineers and music retailers.
