Desiree Ellis takes home ‘Coach of the Year’ Award
Africa’s most prominent sports awards ceremony kicked off in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday evening, with the continent’s best in football under one roof for an evening of celebrations and honours.
Desiree Ellis, whose Banyana Banyana will be competing in the 2022 WAFCON final on Saturday, 23 July 2022, was the only South African to bring home glory with a win in a hotly contested category that included powerhouses coaches Carlos Queiroz and Pitso Mosimane.
This is Ellis’ third Coach of the Year win at the 2022 CAF Awards.
The biggest win of the night, however, fell on former Liverpool attacker and Senegal icon Sadio Mane who was named the 2022 CAF Player of the Year.
