Megan and Lanez’ trial is set to begin on 14 September 2022 but at last, fans who’ve followed the story for this long finally heard from Megan when she sat down for a tell-all interview with veteran anchor Gayle King.
In the 12-minute CBS Mornings interview, an emotional Megan detailed the roots of her acquaintance with Tory, claiming the two bonded soon after her mother, Holly Thomas, passed away in March 2019.
Despite numerous reports on social media, including claims from Tory himself, the Savage rapper refuted ever having a sexual relationship with the Canadian crooner.
“We were friends, we hung out like every day. His mom passed too, so I felt like we were bonding over that,” Meg said.
Alas, the two artists developed chemistry and on the night they were invited to a party hosted by Kylie Jenner, everything went awry. According to Megan, an argument that ensued after she insisted on leaving the party escalated into a grudge match between Tory, Meg and her ex-best friend Kelsey Nicole.
“I was ready to go, and everybody else wasn’t ready to go. But that’s, like, normal friend stuff,” she added.
Meg recalled getting out of the vehicle at some point but was coaxed into getting back in. This decision, Meg said, she regrets to this day because, perhaps, if she had stayed out of the vehicle, she would not have been shot in the foot.
In the interview, which you can watch below, Meg categorically identified Tory as the shooter
“So I get out of the car and it’s like everything happens so fast. And all I hear is this man screaming. And he said, ‘Dance, bitch.’ And he started shooting. And I’m just like, ‘Oh, my God.’ If I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he’s gonna shoot something that’s, like, super important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me.
“I was really scared because I had never been shot at before,” she said, barely able to contain her emotions.
