Imagine 50 Cent on Instagram Live with Ja Rule. If you know anything about their history you would appreciate just how much of a big deal the prospect of a Verzuz battle between the two would be.
Have we seen the best from Verzuz battles?
We’ve seen a lot of entertainment heavyweights go up against each other in epic catalogue battles in recent weeks.
From the dramatic-but-hilarious Sean Garrett vs The Dream encounter to the enchanting contest between Ne-Yo and Johnta Austin, this has arguably been the greatest source of entertainment in these trying times.
Although, Tory Lanez would make a valid point with his insane Quarantine Radio.
RZA went up against the veteran DJ Premier in a classic battle of the ages, where the Wu-Tang sonic master won the unanimous vote.
As Verzuz founders Swizz Beats and Timberlands would say, “it’s for the culture.”
50 Cent vs Ja Rule: Is there a battle on the cards?
It’s hard to imagine that this sentiment would be held by 50 Cent and Ja Rule, though. The two rappers have been tipped for a clash after Rule, shouting from the speakers of Fat Joe’s phone, said he wants all the smoke.
You see, Swizz Beats zapped into Fat Joe’s Instagram Live feed while the Lean Back rapper was on the phone with Rule. The topic of a 50 Cent vs Rule battle being the next best prospect since RZA vs Premier popped up in the conversation, to which the Fyre Festival co-founder replied:
“I want all the smoke but I’ll behave.”
It may have been lighthearted banter but the streets ran with Rule’s response. He hasn’t addressed the situation since his supposed challenge made headlines but 50 Cent has already shared his thoughts.
Known for being petty and messy, Fif’ quickly turned this into another series of jabs at his arch-nemesis, claiming that this is yet another attempt by Rule to seek publicity.
However, nowhere in his captions are the words “it will never happen”, or ” I’m not interested.” Our interests fell on the #fryfestival he included in his recent Instagram post.
Whether this is his statement of his intent to fry Rule in a song-for-song battle remains to be seen. Garret and Dream sure did offer some fiery entertainment but there is no doubt that a face-off on Instagram between these two rap enemies would be the greatest moment in Hip-Hop history.
