Footage has emerged from the chaotic scenes in Juju Valley this past weekend, showing Polokwane Mayor John Mpe, also known as “DJ Makoro wa bana,” handling a gun during a violent clash between ANC and EFF supporters.

In the widely circulated videos on social media, two groups of people are seen clashing.
One group is wearing yellow ANC t-shirts, while the other group is in red EFF t-shirts.
The confrontation escalated as both groups began throwing stones at each other.
Gunshots were heard as Mayor Mpe and his protectors attempted to force their way into the area.
According to Limpopo Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, the police are investigating several cases of attempted murder following the incident.
Several gunshots were fired during the clash, leaving a nine-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man wounded.
The young girl sustained a critical gunshot wound to the head and is currently in the ICU.

The young girl, whose age was initially unconfirmed but later identified as nine years old, is receiving medical treatment for her injuries.
She is one of three residents of Juju Valley who were taken to the hospital following the violent political altercation.
Her condition remains critical, and she is being closely monitored by medical professionals.
The clash occurred during a day filled with political events in Juju Valley.
The ANC’s Peter Mokaba region had planned several activities, including the handover of 47 gazebos to 45 branches and a door-to-door campaign.
Simultaneously, the EFF was hosting a soccer tournament in the same area.
Tensions between the groups escalated quickly, leading to the violent confrontation captured on video.
No arrests have been made thus far.
