South African songstress Bulelwa ‘Zahara‘ Mtukutana issued a public plea to anyone with information on the whereabouts of her six South African Music Awards (SAMA) trophies.

Zahara loses SAMA trophies to theft

As reported by Drum Magazine, the Loliwe star was away on the Easter weekend and, upon returning home, found her award trophies, which stood on a custom-made display unit, missing.

Nothing else was removed from her home, she confirmed. The only other person who was in the property that weekend was her gardener, who informed her that he’d found the door to her house slightly ajar, and while it was a bizarre sighting, he apparently thought nothing of it.

“He came to do the garden while I was away. He says he saw the door not properly closed and pushed it and closed it. He says he never went into the house, and I don’t see how he could have done so when all doors were locked,” she says.

Zahara has opened a case of theft at the Honeydew police station and while suspects have yet to be identified, the songstress has her eye on a neighbour from hell.

Relations between Zahara and the neighbour have not been the greatest, at all. According to the singer, the first time they clashed was in 2020, after the neighbour filed a report against the 33-year-old for allegedly violating lockdown regulations by having guests over at her place.

In the two years that have passed, things have not improved and according to Zahara, no one else would have a greater motive to spite her by stealing her SAMA trophies.

“The same neighbour installed cameras facing my house which was an invasion of privacy. I reported the matter, and the cameras were fixed. I’m not saying it’s him. But I am saying there was no break-in at the complex. He has never liked me, and he has never been happy with my presence on the estate. I’m not going anywhere and that needs to sink in,” she added.

From what we understand, nothing else was taken from the singer’s home, only the gold-plated trophies which, in truth, are not worth a cent in the black market.
