What are the latest updates in the murder investigation?
Houston investigators are still collecting evidence and piecing together the events that culminated in the death of the 28-year-old Migo.
Several versions of the tragedy have since surfaced on social media, one going as far as pointing to Huncho Records A&R Migo Bands as the alleged shooter who fired the stray bullet that killed Takeoff.
In another twist, an unidentified woman interviewed by renowned YouTuber Storm Monroe claims she was at the scene of the shooting and witnessed everything.
According to the reported eyewitness, not only was the shootout not about a game of dice but tensions between the two parties involved in the deadly confrontation had been brewing earlier that night at another venue.
The woman named Jas Prince, the son of notorious record executive James Prince, and his Mob Ties entourage as crucial cogs in the events that led to the death of Takeoff.
“First of all, in order to be around Jas Prince, you have to be searched. None of us had guns but Jas’ people. All of this about this was over a dice game, this s*** started in Fifth Ward, around 21:30, 22:00 EST last night (Monday, 31 October 2022),” the woman revealed.
The woman was also adamant that the shootout had nothing to do with reports that Quavo was supposedly upset over losing $7 000 (est. R128 567) in a dice game.
Morover, the unidentified woman, who, we believe, is cooperating with Houston authorities in the investigation, insisted that “Takeoff and Quavo [were] basically trying to be [mediators] between the people who were arguing.”
“Everybody saying, ‘oh, well this is Quavo’s fault’… Quavo had nothing to do with the s*** y’all talking about. Y’all was not there when this happened. It had nothing to do with that!” the woman exclaimed.
Careful not to expose her identity, the woman abruptly ended the conversation with a clue authorities may already be probing:
“The only people who had firearms that night was the camp who protect Jas [Prince]. That’s all I will say.”
At this time, the Houston police department has made no announcements of persons of interest or suspects in the investigation. Jas Prince, the latest name thrown into the mystery around Takeoff’s death released a statement on social media, clearing himself from the scene of the shooting.
“I Never like to hear about things like this happening anywhere, especially in my city, and to my family. When I got woken up with a call about this, I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
