Johannesburg residents will face an imminent water shutdown that is set to begin on Tuesday, 11 July 2023, throughout the city.

The upcoming maintenance and upgrade operations at the Eikenhof pump station, conducted by Rand Water, will leave several areas without running water for at least three days.
Commencing at 19:00 on Tuesday, 11 July, the shutdown is expected to last until 05:00 on Friday, 14 July 2023.
Rand Water has outlined its plan to carry out essential tasks during this period, which includes the installation of a tie-in between two sections, along with the implementation of isolation valves and system upgrades at the Eikenhof pump station.
