So, here’s the tea: Robot Boii is in hot water, and it’s all because of his buddy, Mr JazziQ.
Fans have basically started a campaign to mess up Robot Boii’s nomination for the Top 16 Youth-Owned Brands Awards.

Why, you ask? Well, it’s all linked to some nasty allegations against JazziQ.
The drama kicked off when YFM producer Ngcebo Mcobothi took to X (formerly Twitter) to spill the beans about her alleged experience with JazziQ.
In now-deleted posts, she claimed JazziQ tried to force himself on her in an elevator, saying:
“This guy literally grabbed me by the waist trying to kiss me ngenkani the way I had to push him away from me, while we were in a lift!”
She also shared, “I’m so triggered! Not me being sexually harassed by one of your faves after rejecting his advances.”
These tweets blew up on social media, leading to a major public outcry.
Fans were shocked and demanded answers from JazziQ. The alleged incident happened at the YFM offices just before JazziQ was supposed to do an interview.
YFM quickly distanced itself from Mcobothi’s allegations, putting out an official statement. They made it clear that Mcobothi is an external producer and freelancer, and her views don’t represent the company.
They said:
“We note that your letter required us to respond by close of business on Monday 27 May 2024. However, given that your letter was only received by us at 14h36 on Monday 27 May, we trust we are in order by responding today.”
They also mentioned checking their CCTV footage but found no evidence from the lifts since they don’t have cameras in there. They did offer to share other footage showing Mcobothi and JazziQ entering and exiting the lifts.
JazziQ came out with his own statement detailing what went down.
Video evidence from his videographer showed Mcobothi entering the building and the lift along with JazziQ and his crew, plus another artist.
The video highlighted three key points: JazziQ was never alone with Mcobothi, there were at least five other people in the lift, and the lift ride was super quick.
“At no point was Mr JazziQ alone with Ms Mcobothi in the lift – they were in the presence of at least 5 other people at all times,” the statement read.
While it seems JazziQ has survived yet another scandal involving a woman, his mate Robot could be collateral damage.
The Top 16 Youth-Owned Brands Awards, or Top 16 YOBAs, are a big deal in Africa.
They celebrate young entrepreneurs doing their thing in brand building. This year, the awards expanded to include entries from 15 African countries, which is huge.
Over 3,300 entries were recorded, way up from the under 500 entries in 2022.
Robot Boii is nominated in the Top Personalities and Influencers category.
It seems that if the hate train has its way, Mzwakhe Mbuli’s son could lose the public vote by virtue of association.
