Centurion Mall has become the scene of a jewellery store heist, where at least one bystander was fatally shot.
Centurion Mall: Here’s what we know about the robbery
A series of gunshots rang off inside the Gauteng shopping centre on Monday afternoon. According to Emer-g-med, an off-duty medical official was found attempting to resuscitate an innocent bystander that had fall victim to the violence, after paramedics were rushed to the scene in response to distress calls coming from the mall.

From what we understand, an unknown number of armed robbers targeted a jewellery store inside Centurion Mall. It is unclear at this stage if any fatalities or injuries were suffered by the jewellery store staff or the suspects.
Moreover, the gunmen are believed to have escaped but it remains to be confirmed if they made it out with any of the store’s of precious stones. This was the statement released by the shopping mall shortly after the robbery:
“The Centurion mall can confirm a fatality on its premises following an attempted armed robbery at a jewellery store. The SAPS are on-site and we are fully co-operating with the law enforcement.”
While it could not be verified, it’s believed a second victim was treated at the crime scene. However, the woman’s minor injuries were the result of her falling in an attempt to run away from the jewellery store heist.
