Suffice it to say, the Eastern Cape suspect charged with the attempted rape of a pensioner bit off more than he could chew.
As reported by News 24, the 65-year-old victim from Tsomo Mission experienced the most horrific incident in her home this past weekend.
Eastern Cape pensioner survives horrific rape attempt
According to Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci, the pensioner was asleep in her home when she was woken by the rustling noise of a suspect attempting to enter her bedroom through the window.
Frozen in fear, the victim could do nothing but allow the suspect to approach her as she lay in bed. It quickly dawned on the woman that the man, now identified as a 33-year-old Eastern Cape local, had every intention to sexually assault her.
Little did he know, the elderly woman was no push over. Colonel Soci revealed that during the suspect’s alleged attempt to rape the victim, her quick reactions kicked in when the man tried to kiss her.
“The suspect attempted to rape the woman and allegedly forced [her] to kiss [him]. She bit his tongue until it fell [off],” the police spokesperson revealed.
Tongueless suspect arrested in hospital
Spooked by the freak incident, the suspect quickly fled the scene and the victim contacted authorities. It didn’t take long for police to track the 33-year-old down to a hospital in Cofimvaba, a settlement situated east of Queenstown.
He was placed under arrest and charged with the attempted rape of an elderly woman. The story quickly shot up the trends list on social media.
