Two male suspects’ faces were caught by a retail store’s high-resolution CCTV cameras pulling off a brazen robbery at Highveld Mall, in Witbank.

According to information from Mpumalanga police, these two early risers, whose identities remain unknown, bonded over a retail heist on Valentine’s Day.
Information collected by detectives working on the business robbery case suggests the pair broke in through a vulnerable entry point at the back of the shopping centre in the wee hours of Wednesday, 14 February 2024.
For reasons not yet divulged by authorities, the suspects reached a Foschini retail shop without alerting mall security.
Based on the CCTV still shots released by police, the robbers made their way into the store using a steel crowbar. However, in their preparation, which was meticulous up to that point, none of them thought it wise to include face masks in their inventory.

While the exact amount of losses suffered by the retail giant was not canvassed, Witbank police confirmed the robbers “stole a large number of cell phones and laptops from the shop.”
“A remunerative reward has been offered for the identification and arrest of the suspects,” police revealed.
Sources close to the investigation have also hinted at the fact that police are leaning toward the likelihood that the suspects are foreign nationals, albeit, up to this point, this has yet to be verified.
