A male SAPS officer from Krugersdorp, Gauteng, is being investigated after footage surfaced on social media showing him man-handling a female pupil.

The video clip circulating on social media was posted by a user who claimed that the female pupil was dragged into a police car after she had allegedly refused to give the SAPS officer in question her phone number.
“It is alleged that he has been following the student for weeks now,” the poster claimed.

Following the outrage that spread after the video clip surfaced on social media, SAPS released a statement confirming that a team has been dispatched to probe the incident.
“SAPS is aware of a video circulating on social media involving a High School learner in Krugersdorp. The SAPS Gauteng Provincial Office is attending to the incident,” the police wrote in a tweet.
