Big Sean is on the verge of releasing his fifth studio album, Welcome To Detroit 2 and to occupy the anticipation that’s been building for three years, the rapper released a touching promo video with unreleased snippets.
Big Sean is ready to share new music with the world
Big Sean from 2017 would probably not have imagined the soul-searching journey he would embark on for three years.
The rapper has admitted it himself. The toxicity that lived inside of him was his downfall.
Even though, for argument’s sake, he has had one of the most illustrious music careers in the last decade.
“I’m big on energy, and I wasn’t feeling like myself and I couldn’t figure out why. So what I did was I stepped back from everything I was doing, everything I had going on, because somewhere in the middle of it, dawg, I just felt lost and I didn’t know how I got there,” Big Sean revealed in a touching Instagram confessional posted on this day in 2019.
Watch: Welcome To Detroit 2 visual album trailer
Fast-forward 365 days and on his 32nd birthday, we have been treated with a wholly optimistic, self-aware and content Big Sean, on the cusp of glory with his upcoming studio album.
On Thursday, the Detroit star released a visual trailer of Welcome To Detroit 2. Looking closely at the themes contained in the footage, it appears that Big Sean is ready to fire off multiple videos to accompany the album.
When will Big Sean drop his album?
Aside from this trailer, we have no clue what to expect from Sean Don on his fifth offering. Based on his interactions on social media, we can draw credible assumptions that Hit-Boy and MikeWillMadeIt will be part of the project.
That’s about all we know, for certain. No official release date has been announced by the star or his record label, Def Jam. However, one can’t rule out the possibility of Friday 27 March, the week of his birthday, being Sean Don Day.
