The defence force says several processes must be followed before deployment.
Acting Health Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane announced on Friday that the Defence Minister agreed to use the military to ease the burden on Gauteng health professionals.
SANDF spokesperson, Brigadier-General Mafi Mgobhozi says, this hasn't yet been approved by the president.
Kubayi-Ngubane said she was very concerned about the rate of COVD-19 infection in Gauteng.
Meanwhile, South Africa recorded 10,510 new infections and 118 deaths.
It’s Gauteng that’s really suffering, as it recorded 6,969 of the new cases.
The total number of deaths is 58,441.
