The walls are closing in on Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs after federal agents raided his properties in Los Angeles, California, and Miami, Florida, on Monday, in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.
Why did the Feds raid Diddy’s homes?
According to reports, the raid was spearheaded by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York branch, in collaboration with partners in LA and Miami.
This, it’s understood, is part of an ongoing case handled by the Southern District of New York, where Diddy faces multiple lawsuits linked to sex crimes.
“We will provide further information as it becomes available,” an HSI rep said on Monday.
At this time, it remains unclear what materials were seized from Diddy’s properties. From what we understand, the feds were on the prowl for evidence tying the billionaire record producer to a sex trafficking ring.
Reporters outside one of Diddy’s mansions captured footage of a man who claimed to be his neighbour making interesting comments about the activity he’s allegedly witnessed around the mogul’s property during witching hours.
Moreover, footage from the scene of one of the raids showed Diddy’s sons, Justin and King Combs, in handcuffs. However, it’s yet to be confirmed if the pair were charged with anything.
Where is Diddy now?
The last sighting of Diddy was at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, where he was caught on camera pacing relentlessly while his properties were being raided.
Despite rumours suggesting the Bad Boy Entertainment founder boarded a private jet to Cape Verde, where the United States does not have an extradition treaty, reliable sources confirmed Diddy did not leave the country.
After all, the 54-year-old was not arrested nor was he handcuffed when the Feds confronted him at the airport.
However, tracking data did highlight interesting stops Diddy’s jet made in Cape Verde and Antigua.
Based on recent reports, all indications suggest Diddy was still in Miami when this article was published.
What happens next?
No word has been heard from the media mogul as yet. From what we understand, neither Justin nor King Combs, or any of the other persons seen in viral videos handcuffed during the raid, was arrested.
Diddy too remains a free man, albeit on borrowed time.
According to NBC News, federal agents have, thus far, interviewed three women and a man, whose names have been sealed, as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation.
Coincidentally, Cassie Ventura, who set off Diddy’s downfall, a woman identified as Jane Doe in court documents, another female accuser named Joie Dickerson-Neal, and male songwriter Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones are the fourth plaintiffs who’ve filed sexual assault lawsuits against the 54-year-old.
It’s believed federal agents are working to close the investigation expeditiously, with Diddy’s arrest all but imminent.
