MacG surfaced on a recent episode of his podcast and fans were eagerly anticipating a public apology addressed to renowned House music producer Heavy K.
Watch: MacG refuses to apologise to Heavy K
Except, the gesture was not afforded to the Drumboss. Instead, the polarising podder used the opportunity to lambast Heavy K as an egomaniacal narcissist.
This, MacG explained, was the result of a conversation the two had sometime after Heavy K was blasted as a Black Coffee hater for allegedly claiming his Grammy-Award-winning album Subconscious was ‘pap’.
The Khusta producer appeared on the MacG podcast in March 2021 and at one point, he was probed on his preference between the old and new Black Coffe. Heavy K categorically stated that his preference was the ‘old’ Black Coffee, purely due to the fact that this was the source of his inspiration.
“The new [Black] Coffee, you know, that’s a very smart urootman. Anything he does, he calculates everything he does. So, I feel like this shift, I feel like there’s places that I haven’t been to that he has been to. Maybe he’s seen other doors for him to explore,” he said.
However, his words were used to sew division when, on a recent episode, MacG claimed he was told by Coffee, whom he had rubbed shoulders with at an event that honoured the Home Brewed star’s historic Grammy win, that Heavy K had criticised his Subconscious album, allegedly terming it as ‘pap’.
“One thing I won’t allow is for people to lie on my name or project me as something I’m not just to push their narrative,” Heavy K wrote in a series of explosive tweets.
The Drumboss pulled receipts, rubbishing claims that he had, at any point in the interview, said anything negative about his idol. In fact, Coffee himself cleared the air, making it abundantly clear that “pap is not a word I use” in DMs Heavy K shared.

Following this tell-all, Heavy K demanded a public apology from MacG and this is now it went, according to the podcaster:

MacG gives Heavy K a reality check.
"My son is fighting for his life in a hospital bed – what's more important, my son or Heavy K's ego?" asks the controversial podcaster 😪

Suffice it to say, his motivations for refusing to apologise to Heavy K were not accepted by fans. Here are some of the reactions we picked out:
MacG could not speak to Heavy K because his son is in hospital but still had the time to record the Monday episode and stick to his story pic.twitter.com/tYIe4xrABs

So MacG misquoted Heavy K and then instead of apologizing he further disrespect Heavy K. Heavy K is the wrong one, njani?

We defended MacG when they wanted him cancelled but on this case he is wrong there's no way he paraphrased because when Heavy K said about Coffee it was before the album that won the Grammy
