Alas, South Africa remains divided on the topic of homosexual education in children from the age of seven.
This was Lasizwe’s suggestion. However organic it may seem, something this series of tweets posted by the influencer-turned-celebrity suggests that this may have been part of a roll-out strategy to drum up viewership of his MTV reality TV show Fake It Till You Make It.

Right on cue, Mzansi shot up in pandemonium. Social media was divided. On one side, the LGBTQI+ community stood by Lasizwe and championed the star for envisioning a future where homosexual education is part of a child’s nurturing.
On the other, people were dismayed by the 22-year-old’s gall to suggest that parents ought to teach children as young as seven years old about same sex relationships.
Right at the crux of the online debate, Lasizwe dropped a trailer of the upcoming episode of his reality TV show which, coincidentally, touches on this very subject.

Amid the raging backlash he faced, Lasizwe remained resolute on his beliefs and tweeted:
“Why are we refusing to teach our children about homosexuality and same-sex love? I feel like it’s important for kids to understand that It’s okay for dad, uncle or brother to date or even marry the same gender without being judged or crucified for being themselves!”
The polarising topic had achieved just that, wide-range division amongst audiences that may or may not have been privy to the 22-year-old’s reality TV show.
