Every now and again in life, we come across anomalies, geniuses with impeccable intelligence and Kgaogelo Bopape is one of those.
Kgaogelo Bopape wins big in international math contest
As reported by IOL News, the Horizon International High School pupil was awarded a bronze medal for his participation in the annual International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
The maths contest was hosted virtually in Russia (due to coronavirus travel restrictions) and Bopape competed against the world’s most intelligence wizards of his age.
The fact that he came in two spots short of a gold medal proves that he is one-of-one and that his future is as bright as the sun in summer.
Reacting to the momentous victory, Bopape was quoted as saying:
“It’s honestly a great feeling to be recognised at an international level. It was never easy, but it shows that the hard work I’ve been putting in has paid off. Credit must also be given to my maths teacher and parents.”
The next big challenge awaits Bopape and he’s more than ready
His teacher and mentor Huseyin Akinci has praised his prodigy, describing him as the embodiment of the school’s motto, Excellence in Education.
A big victory this was but on the horizon lies another challenge for the youngster, the daunting matric examinations.
“Right now I will focus on my exams which I believe will be challenging, considering we didn’t have a decent academic year due to the lockdown,” he said.
