Summer Walker has called out the Tomorrow Can Wait Festival, slated for April 2025, labelling it as “fake” amid claims she’s set to headline the event in South Africa.
Summer Walker distances herself from Tomorrow Can Wait Festival
The festival, promoted as a three-day music extravaganza, is set to take place at Legends Adventure Farm and MX Track from 4 to 6 April 2025.
Advertisements doing the rounds on social media promise an unstoppable musical experience spread across three stages.
Notable headliners teased include the iconic Ms Lauryn Hill, Teddy Swims, Gunna, and Summer Walker, with tickets scheduled to go on sale on Friday, 27 December 2024.
Adding intrigue to the lineup is Gunna, who is currently in Lagos, Nigeria, performing and filming the music video for his latest single, Got Damn.
The ‘One of Wun’ rapper is expected to return to South Africa in January 2025 for an exclusive invite-only Heineken House event, fuelling speculation about his presence on the festival roster.
Summer Walker, however, swiftly dismissed the claims.
Taking to X, she clarified:
“I was not booked to be at ‘Tomorrow Can Wait Fest.’ It’s fake, but I can’t wait to come to South Africa for real. Heart of a Woman video out now.”
The festival organisers have yet to issue a statement addressing the controversy.
