For the next two days, residents in Soshanguve, Tshwane, are warned to prepare for heavy rain and thunderstorms in the region.
Soshanguve hit with torrential weather
The torrential weather that, as reported by Jacaranda FM, uprooted roofs and damaged residential properties this past weekend, has persisted on Tuesday.
Already, videos showing vehicles struggling to make it past flooded streets have surfaced on social media.
Moreover, Block L is one of a few regions in Soshanguve that have been without electricity as a result of the thunderstorm.
The City of Tshwane issued a statement on social media indicating that technicians are working around the clock to restore power in the area.
Thunderstorms and flood expected in Gauteng this week
However, the predictions made by AccuWeather on the conditions of the next two days don’t offer much hope for those affected by the torrential rains.
According to the forecaster, conditions in Soshanguve are likely to be “not as warm with considerable cloudiness; periods of rain and a thunderstorm this afternoon.”
